It was the summer of 1968 with four guys piled into a red 65 Mustang convertible towing a trailer on their way to Nanton, and Black Diamond (South of Calgary). Originally there was Jerry DeZutter, Terry Kolach, Murray Geekie and Larry Kopra in the band. That summer they travelled to Athabasca every weekend to play at a hamburger stand just north and a bit west outside the town. It was run by Roy Rodgers who was again an important part in their music when the band Nevada played in Red Deer almost twenty years later
